In June I started following a 30 Days of Prayer for Your Husband guide that I found on Crosswalk.com. In July I started writing all of these prayers down in my journal. When I told my daughter about it, she suggested that this might be something that other wives could benefit from. I hope that these prayers strengthen you in praying for your husband, I know that I have seen many answers throughout the two months I’ve been following the guide. I also pray that you will be encouraged in knowing that you are the support that God has called you to be for your husband. Be blessed as you pray and sit back and watch God work.
Day 1 – His relationship with God
“And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” ” Luke 10:27
Father God, teach my husband to love You with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his strength and with all his mind. I pray that my husband would put his relationship with You above all other relationships. I pray that he would have a burning desire to walk closer with You and to surrender all of his life – his dreams his desires, his fears, everything – over to You. I pray that he would love You more than he even loves me.
I pray Father God that he would love his neighbors as he loves himself, with open eyes to their needs and wisdom in building the relationships, but with You always at the head. May he always, Lord, sift every relationship through the filter of Your Word and the whisperings of the Holy Spirit and to place his relationship with You above all.
Amen
