You never know how God will supply

cashier“I (Jesus) have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

John 16:33

I went to the ENT doctor today for a checkup on the medication for COPD. The visit went well; I am showing great improvement in breathing and the medication is not causing any side effects. It went well, at least until the end. The doctor turned to his assistant and told her to order a more comprehensive PFT at our local hospital. I was a little taken aback, but didn’t say anything. We discussed the refills for my inhalers and then the doctor explained that the last time I was in I was in pretty bad shape and he wanted to make sure that no other damage was done to my lungs. He then smiled and escorted me to the exit.

I say in my door-less Jeep for a few minutes letting the soft breeze blow through and cleanse me of my apprehension at the words “in pretty bad shape.” It didn’t work. Now, I’m not one to worry, but any human is going to have at least a little bit of fear of the unknown in situations like this. I drove out of the parking lot and turned on K-Love, my favorite Christian radio station and let my mind focus on the praise coming across the airwaves.

I decided to stop at our local grocery and pick up some cleaning supplies. I usually use the self – check lane, but today I rolled my buggy into the cashier’s lane and smiled. She greeted me with a typical, “How are you today?” And I responded with my usual, “I’m blessed, how are you?” What followed next was a pure Jesus moment.

The cashier responded with, “I am beyond blessed!” And she proceeded to tell me how just a few months ago she was at death’s door with asthma and COPD. Even the oxygen she had been on for so long could not help her breathe and she was ready to join her husband in their heavenly home. But just before she crossed over, her husband met her and told her to go back, “God’s not done with you yet.”

The doctors are amazed, but I’m not. She stood there in front of me, smiling, healthy, no oxygen, and telling me of all that she is now doing in her church: teaching Sunday School, driving the Sunday morning bus, and sharing her testimony. God is not done with her. And He is not done with me.

Jesus gave me the desire to pull into that checkout lane and He gave this precious lady the words that He knew I needed to hear. I can have perfect peace, because my God knows where I am, what I am going through, and what my next step should be.

Someday I will cross that river into glory, but for now, I have a peace that passes all understanding. And I pray that I can be just as much of a blessing to someone today, as the cashier was to me.

Submission is NOT a Four – Letter Word: Defined by God

What to pray? What to pray?

“For they are demonic spirits, performing signs, who go abroad to the kings of the whole world, to assemble them for battle on the great day of God the Almighty.”

Revelation 16:14

This battle belongs to God. We just finished up Thirty Days of Prayer for @realDonaldTrump, but I hope that you care enough about America to use these prayers as starters when you get alone in your prayer room. Please, don’t let the prayers stop, we’ve come too far to back down now.

Instead, let’s start praying for the world! People all around the world follow this blog, and prayerfully, share it with others. Therefore, we need input. I am assuming that all following this are praying Christians. Let’s bind Satan together this year in praying for our respective countries. What do you say?

Comment on this post with what you are concerned with in your country and let us join you in prayer. I pray for Israel daily. I also have Australia in my journal. I have specifics for these, but there are generalities as well. We all need for the Holy Spirit to live inside of us giving us wisdom, strength and direction. As a matter of fact, let me pray with you right now.

“Father God, You alone know the needs of those reading this blog. And You promised in your Word that if two or more pray together, it will be done. We ask only in your will, Lord. Not out of selfish ambition, or worldly wants, but out of true, spiritual need. Bless us as we bind together to bring salvation to this world that You gave to us. In Jesus Name, Amen”

We are the church

“Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.”

Acts 20:28

Church. Simple word, but so much meaning. We enter the door to where we worship and we say we are going to church. We sing special music and we say we are doing it for the church. We serve in fellowship and we do it for the church. But we are forgetting one vital aspect, we ARE the church.

Christ didn’t die for a building, He died for us. His Holy Spirit lives in us to make us overseers of each other, not of the building. He obtained each of us by His Blood to be His living church. We are obligated to pay careful attention to ourselves and to each other in how we choose to live as the church.

So, when we complain about how things are going, we have to remember that we are the church and we alone have the power to pray about and influence where we choose to serve. It is not always going to go as our human minds want it to go, but what does our spirit tell us? We will know if God is moving us to another place of worship, but we will never leave the church because it is inside each of us.

Pray about your part in unifying the body of Christ, what is God asking you to do today? What is He asking you to pray about? Where is He asking you to serve other parts of the church body? Listen and obey. Don’t let Satan take that blessing away from you.

The Battle for Your Life

“…today you are drawing near for battle against your enemies: let not your heart faint. Do not fear or panic or be in dread of them…”                                                                                        Deuteronomy 20:3

Satan is real. Hell is real. The battle raging all around us is real. Spiritual warfare is real.

There is a lot of talk going around about spiritual warfare. The awesome movie “War Room” I believe has some to do with that. My favorite scene is when the wife is walking determinedly through her house and letting Satan know that he isn’t going to get her family and home. And many of us sit back, smile, and say, “Oh, that movie really inspired me.” Tell me, what did it inspire you to do? Follow up with a Bible study? Go to church? Listen to Christian music? These are all good things, but if you are a Christian, chances are you were already doing these.

The battle for our hearts, mind and joy in the Lord has just begun. The closer we get to the return of Jesus, the stronger Satan’s warriors will fight to prevent anyone from wanting to follow Jesus. And he can use you and he can use me in doing this. How? By making us complacent; by being satisfied that we pray enough, read enough, and attend church enough.

But God is calling us to get our knees bloody as we fight for the souls of our children and other loved ones. He is calling us to not back down from what is right and we know what is right. We can’t fear what the world will say if we stand against the homosexual agenda to teach our children that same-sex union is normal. Read the book of Genesis and you will find that there is NOTHING NORMAL ABOUT IT! Do you need to come out of the lifestyle? God can do that with you, just ask Him. Then stand and battle for the lives of those who are still there. Don’t faint! Don’t back down! Give God all that you have!

Abortion has been said so many times that the meaning has diminished. Our children are growing up thinking it is just another form of birth control. It’s not. ABORTION IS MURDER! From the moment of conception, that child (yes, it is a child) has a soul. When that tiny heart starts beating, nothing is added to it to make it any more human. And, hallelujah, God has allowed us women to be a part of His miraculous creation. How can we not see how He loves us? How He loves our unborn children???

There IS a Creator, and He is calling His prayer warriors to wake up and smell the ashes of sin that are burning our homes and families down. Oh, God, deliver us!

Right now, make your decision. Are you going to get serious about fighting on your knees or are you going to keep throwing catch – phrases around the Christian community so that you will feel good? Lock yourself in a closet and don’t come out until you have given God all that you have! Feel the  drops of blood on your brow as you intercede for others then, taste and see that the Lord is good! There IS victory in Jesus!
