“ But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.” Job 1:20, 21
Now, why would I start an addiction support page with this verse? Because the ONLY way we can ease the pain and support our addicted loved ones is by staying connected with God who knows all and cares. I know this to be true, because I have many addicted loved ones in my family. Drugs, alcohol, sexual addictions, it doesn’t matter what the dependency is, it is a tool of Satan to use against God’s creation. This is a spiritual battle and we must be armed in order to fight it.
Currently we have a Prayers for Prodigals support group that meets at Lakeside Christian Church in Taylor Mill, KY the third Thursday of each month from 6:15 to 7:30 PM. No registration is needed.
If you are interested in starting a Prayers for Prodigals support group in your area, contact me and I will work with you to get up and running. If it is within the Cincinnati Tri-state area, we may meet face – to – face. If further from the home of Prayers for Prodigals, then we will make other arrangements. You will not be alone.
I am also providing some resources that may be of help to you in this quest to survive. Not only my own books, Prayers for Prodigals (a book of support and prayer for the families) and Grandma, Where’s my Mommy? (a tool for adults to read with young children to help them cope with the pain of a parent with addictions), but other resources that I have checked out for you.
Contact us for support any time.
