If my people…Day 16

“For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man…to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:14-16, 19

What are we asking for today? What is our desire? And….is it aligned with God’s desires? I want to cry when I read of the laws that are in front of our government. I cry when I think that America has become so self – focused that they have lost the relationship with God that He sacrificed His Son to retain. We sinned in the Garden of Eden and broke that close relationship with God. But God had a plan all along. He knew that for many years He would require actions (animal sacrifices) to prove His people’s faithfulness, but that this would never ensure that relationship between God and man. His plan was to offer one sacrifice that would take away our sins once and for all if we would only believe. His Son, Jesus.

And where are we today. We have those who believe in Jesus Christ (or say they do) who are fighting to pass laws that kill unborn children; gifts from God regardless of how that child was conceived. “And we know that for those who love God all things work together  for good…” Romans 8:38 A child is a child from the moment of conception; that is the method God chose to replenish His earth. No law can change that.

As a nation we are fighting for children to be able to choose at a very early age whether they are male or female. Now I ask, does this even sound rational to you? I loved to climb trees, play army with my brother, and work. I would have missed out on my wonderful husband, children, and Baby Grands if my Mom and Dad had decided that because I did these “masculine” things, well, I must be a boy. For heaven’s sake, people, wake up to what Satan is trying to do through you today! He is trying to destroy all the good that God has provided!

Now I’m really going to step on some toes. Our government officials are so excited to include every diverse selfish want that they have lost focus of the fact that skills and competencies are what makes a government efficient. If you are transgender we will give you a place in government. If you are a woman, especially a woman that is not white Caucasian, we will give you a place of authority. If you are gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, sign up for a position in American government! If you are anything but American and Christian, we will put you in to make our laws.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying any of these people lack the ability to lead our nation. What I am saying is, give me a chance to vote based on their experience, education, and track record….not on their choice of lifestyle. We are going down a dangerous path where lifestyle has more credence than morality and ability. Let us join together for God’s will for America.

Lord, We bow before You in humble thanksgiving for Your gifts of power and strength, fortitude and might! We claim the riches of Your glory and the fullness of Your grace that come through the indwelling of Your Spirit within us. We pray for our nation to remain firm and steadfast in the knowledge of Your truth and the promise of the victory that is our through Christ, who loves us. Amen
