if My People… Day 7

“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.” John 15:7-8

Walking closely with God changes our desires to His desires. I wrote a book a few years back that shares my journey from a self – reliant Christian to a God – reliant Christian. It was not a pretty journey. I went from “Self – esteem to God – esteem” with all the heartbreak of following my own path to righteousness.

We, as Americans, are following our own desires right now. We have determined that we know how to handle racism, police brutality, and disease without the direction from God. He knows what is best. We must live in His word so that our desires, and our actions, are replaced with His.

Lord, we as a people have become self – absorbed and busy with activities that bring temporal value. Help us turn our hearts back to You and Your Word so America will bear the fruit of righteousness and be set above all other nations! Strengthen us with the power of Your Spirit in our inner being as we strive to abide in You and to continue in faith that You will do more for us than we could ever imagine. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
