“For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age.”
Titus 2:11-12
Father God, as we start this new year, we pray for a regeneration of our minds to focus on the morality of our lives. We renew our faith in You, turn our passions over to You, and rely on You for our wisdom. We expectantly await January 20th when our next president takes office and we let our hopes and dreams for a more godly America take foremost thought in our minds.
We pray, Lord Jesus, that our leaders taking office would realize that America is looking to them as examples of how a true leader lives his life. Embed in their thoughts, Father God, that in order to have a moral America, we must have leaders who have renounced ungodliness and worldly passions and have committed to living self – controlled, upright, and godly lives.
Lord, I look at many past presidents and I see corruption, sexual sin, and indifference toward You while trying to portray moral lives to the American people. I know that President – elect Donald Trump is not perfect, he is a human living in a sinful world. But I also know that he has not tried to hide his past. I do pray, Lord, that his present is focused on You and living a life worthy of pointing our children to as an example. I pray for purity in his marriage and family affairs. I pray for honesty in his leadership with our country and others. And I pray that his worldly desires would not overcome the mission that You have called him to.
In Jesus’ Name, I lift this prayer to You for Donald J. Trump, Mike Pence, and each of the supporting leaders that will take office for America this year.
Amen
