“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end,
on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it
with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.”

Almighty God, Wonderful Counselor, Prince of Peace. May our government officials, in total, turn to You for the direction for America in this coming leadership. I ask, Lord, that Donald Trump recognize that there is no government except what You, Father, have sanctioned and put into place. You, Lord, established government so many years ago and expected us to uphold it with justice and with righteousness forever. You promised, and You did.
I ask, Father God, that as we move through the Advent of the birth of your Son, Jesus Christ, that our President – elect Donald Trump, Vice President – elect Mike Pence, and all other appointed government officials, give thanks to God for the Presence of His Son. That we appreciate that our government was sanctioned by You and that we owe it to You to run that government by following your Word. Give us grace, Lord, when we fail. Forgive us and give us a new start each day. I beg, Lord, bring America back to You and back to following your will.
