“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!
Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and shrewd in their own sight!”

Isaiah 5: 20-21

Father God, today I pray for our leaders to know your definition of discernment and to ask for that gift in their leadership. Give each of them a discerning spirit to know when the decisions they are making are for the good or the evil. Show them the difference between darkness of sin and unrighteous leadership and the light of leading with your Word as their road map.

I ask, Lord, that You would open the eyes of our President – elect Donald J. Trump’s to see when the decisions he is making are best for the America he loves. Give him boldness to stand firm in the Christian values that we cherish and to be wise only through your wisdom.

Father, bless each of the cabinet,  staff and Supreme Court Justices with a double – dose of discernment and the wisdom to follow your lead. Bless Donald J. Trump in the coming weeks as he transitions into the office of President of the United States of America with a hunger for your Word and a desire to lead our country in the way of restoration. Help him, Lord, to have the knowledge to take us from wanting to fill our own wants to a people that desires to pull together for each other’s needs. And through that knowledge, Lord, take us back to being united once again.

In Jesus’ Name,

Amen
