“Woe to those who rise early in the morning, that they may run after strong drink,
who tarry late into the evening as wine inflames them!
They have lyre and harp, tambourine and flute and wine at their feasts,
but they do not regard the deeds of the Lord, or see the work of his hands.”
Isaiah 5:11-12
Lord, thank you for the victory in electing Donald Trump as our next president. Many have celebrated since the day of the election with parties, pats on the back, and glowing congratulations. I celebrate with them, Lord, I can see a light at the end of the tunnel of immorality that we have been living with and it is truly a reason to celebrate.
But, Father God, let us never forget that it was only through prayer, fasting, and faith that You have given us another chance. As we move toward the day when President – elect Trump officially takes office, bear on his mind to always see your hand in his election. Let him see that it was through the faith of the American people in You that he was chosen to lead us back to greatness.
Fill Mr. Trump with your Holy Spirit to know when the celebration is getting haughty and prideful and help him to refocus on the blessing that You have given him. Also, Lord, impress on him the magnitude of the work You have entrusted to him. He can’t do it alone, Lord; Donald Trump needs You.
And, Lord, only You know his heart; only You know if he has truly accepted You as his Savior and Lord. If this is true, then let the American people see that he is leaning on You for his answers. And if it is not, then reveal the need to him to turn his whole life over to You.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
