Thirty Days of Prayer for @realDonaldTrump – Day 8:His Battle for America

God has impressed on me for some time that the vision of Isaiah is relevant for America today. As we continue to pray for our President – Elect Donald Trump, I ask that you would join me in reading the book of Isaiah and praying for America as Mr. Trump takes office to lead us.

“Ah, sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, offspring of evildoers,
children who deal corruptly! They have forsaken the Lord,
they have despised the Holy One of Israel, they are utterly estranged.”

Isaiah 1:5

Father God, my heart breaks for America. The unborn children that we have murdered in the guise of a better life. The lack of godly directed discipline for our children because we fear injuring their self – esteem. The obviously empty teachings in our homes, schools and government where God has been removed and, like the man in Matthew 12 who cleaned his house of evil spirits and failed to fill it with good, the evil has entered seven- fold. God, fill our country with your Holy Spirit power.

I pray for Donald J. Trump to know the difference between religion and relationship. I ask, Father God, that he will realize that you can’t wear a relationship like you can wear religion. A true relations ship with You is something that goes into the heart and takes control of your every thought. Religion is something that you put on to impress people. No matter what religion Mr. Trump is a part of, no matter where he worships, feed him, Lord Jesus, fill him with the teachings from his pastor, the leaders and elders of his place of worship, but don’t let him wear it for protection. The only protection he needs comes from You. Bless him, Lord, that he might lead us in America back to the Christian morality that we were formed with.

And, Father, lead him like a little child to the decisions that can only be made through talking with You. Help him to pour his heart out to You on the issues that face America today and to learn as the Holy Spirit teaches him. Grow him, Lord, into the man that You created him to be for such a time as this.

I ask in Jesus’ Name,

Amen
