Thirty Days of Prayer for My Pastor – Day 24

“To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by his power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.”

2 Thessalonians 1:11-12

Father God, our pastor has been called, by You, to serve your people. He is the shepherd of the flock that You chose, and You have placed him in a position of merit within our church. You have called him to a position that is scrutinized by everyone: family, friends, community. His every action, every word, every deed is measured by human measures.

I pray for my pastor, Lord, that he would fulfill his desires for goodness and for him to be empowered by You to be counted worthy of your calling. I pray for his total leaning on You for his measure and that the voice of the people would not serve to lessen his desire to serve You fully. I pray for him to bring glory to the name of your Son, Jesus Christ through his strength in You and the wisdom that only You can give. Let him never lean on his own understanding, but to always look to You for his answers.

Cover my pastor with your grace; the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ in whose name I pray.
