Thirty Days of Prayer for My Pastor – Day 10

宝盒子ī2

“Follow the pattern of the sound words that you have heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. By the Holy Spirit who dwells within us, guard the good deposit entrusted to you.”

2 Timothy 1:13 – 14

There are so many today, Lord, who preach their own version of Your Word. Maybe they get tired of people saying “Things have changed” or “Those words don’t apply anymore.” No matter what the reason, we have compromised the black and white of the Bible and changed it to a muddy gray visit on Sunday morning.

I ask, Lord, that You hold our pastor fast to the meaning of the words that You give him to preach. Let him hear Your whispers and preach them to us according to the meaning You set forth in them. I pray, Father God, that our pastor would stay focused on the gospel of Jesus Christ and not be distracted by the issues of the day. Don’t let him be pulled into an empty box of compromise, but let him always use the treasury of Words that You have entrusted to him.

I pray, Father, that he will be able to keep the unchanging message relevant through fresh insights from current events through the eyes and heart of Jesus Christ. And I pray that we receive the message as You, Lord, intended us to hear. Open our ears, Lord, to hear Your Word and apply it to our lives. In Jesus’ Name,

Amen
