“Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.”
Proverbs 11:14
Father God, as I move through this month of praying for My pastor, I ask that You would also be including all of our spiritual leaders of the congregation. I ask, Lord, that each of them would seek You before counseling with us. That they would pray and listen to your voice as their counsel before making decisions.
I pray for the Music Minister, that they would feel the anointing before they ever lead us in praise and worship. That they would lead us in music according to your direction and that they would be serving and pleasing You in the choices they make. Satan was at one time a beautiful angel, singing in God’s choir, so it just makes sense that this would be an area where he would try to bring confusion into the church. There is no right or wrong way to praise God if you are truly praising Him and not trying to bring attention to ourselves and I ask, Father, that You surround our Music Minister with safety from the fiery darts of those who would be seeking self – satisfaction in our music.
I pray for our Youth Minister, that he would be close to the hearts of the the youth and their interests right now, but that when those interests stray from the guidelines of God’s Word, that he will gently counsel these tender hearts into what is right. There is a huge responsibility that goes with this ministry and these ministers need your strength. They also need our prayer support and, Father God, please remind me when I fail to lift him up daily.
I pray for our Children’s Ministers, what a huge responsibility to mold the hearts and minds of these children. To put them on the path to serving You, Lord. Some of these children have no fathers in the home, some are living with others than either parent, some have never known love. Bless these ministers to know how to love and encourage as they teach about You, Jesus. Suffer the little children to come to God. Bless each one of these workers: Sunday school, Children’s Church, outreach.
I ask, Father, that You would lead and guide each of our deacons as they minister to the families. Give them insight into the needs and wisdom in allotting time necessary in their busy schedules. I ask, Lord, that as they pray and support our pastor, that You will give them the words to say and the prayers for pray.
I pray for our pastors to be trusted and followed as the shepherds of our congregation through sermon, music, teaching and counseling. In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
