Thirty Days of Prayer for My Pastor – Day 5

honest-truth

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.”

2 Timothy 2:15

“Lord, today I bring my pastor to You for the anointing of truth to fall on him. Let ever word he speaks be from a heart filled with the Holy Spirit and a desire to present sin as sin and lies as lies. Release him from any desire to preach what the people desire him to say and to stand firm on what God’s Word says.

I pray that my pastor would spend more time in the Word, gaining wisdom and approval from God, than he does on visitation and ceremony to gain the approval of the people.

I ask, Lord, that his ability to discern right from wrong would increase as he diligently applies himself to accurately handle the Word. And I ask that he would be a teacher that church members would follow in the example of studying and applying your Word.

In Jesus’ Name,

Amen
