“Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples!” Psalm 105:1
Father God, I praise You for knowing just what I needed in a husband and providing a way for us to be together forever. I give thanks to You daily for him.
I look back over the years and I see good times, I see not so good times, and I see times. And I am so thankful for each day spent in this marriage. You have given us beautiful children who have grown into beautiful adults. You have blessed us with grandchildren to carry on our message of love to the generation after that. And, Lord, You gave us a Christian home that nothing on earth has been able to break.
I thank You for my husband’s witness for You as he goes out into the community and I ask that You water each seed he has planted to grow closer to You. I ask, Father, that You bless our ministry together, the ministry of “marriage is for a lifetime.” Let others see You in each of us, but most of all, when they see us, they only see one person. We have grown into that joining just as You designed and I want our marriage to be an encouragement to those just starting out.
Lord, as we walk this road together, give us hearts that long to share the good news of Jesus’ death and resurrection as the grounding for a lifetime as one. Thank You, Father God, for loving us.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
