Thirty Days of Prayer for My Husband – Day 13: Asking Forgiveness

Asking forgiveness is sometimes like growing pains. It hurts for a little while, but you will be stronger once you are through it.

Lord, I wish I could say that I am and always have been the perfect wife, but you know that is not true. There have been times when I have let my husband down and I have had to ask for his forgiveness. Sometimes over and over again for the same kind of offense.

Lord, I pray that my husband would be quick to forgive me when I hurt him. I pray that he would let go of any bitterness or anger he may feel. i pray that we can keep the communication open and civil without blame and ridicule so that we can talk through anything that could cause a rift in our relationship.

I pray more than that; I pray that I would understand how I have hurt him in the past and that I would grow through his forgiving. I never want to hurt my husband, Lord, and I ask your forgiveness for the times that I have.

Help me, Father God, to see where I need to change and remind me to always ask for my love’s forgiveness. Humble me, Lord, as you teach me to be the wife you have called me to be.

Amen

I John 1:9
